Bachelor’s degree in an environmental-related discipline (environmental science, environmental or civil engineering, soil science, biology, and environmental geology).
Excellent communication and technical writing skills. Applicant must be capable of summarizing investigation findings and field methods. Strong communications skills are required as the successful candidate will work with other scientists, engineers, project managers, and clients in the execution of projects.
Experience (field or office) with the development and/or execution of stormwater management plans and the performance of environmental compliance inspections. Experience with wetland and/or T&E surveys is a plus.
Knowledge of environmental permitting and regulatory programs, particularly those specific to Illinois and the Chicago area. Experience with CERCLA and RCRA is also desirable.
Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
Proficiency in computer software programs, particularly MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER is required.
Ability to travel (a minimum of 25%).
