Headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, Professional Environmental Engineers, Inc. (PE) is a full-service environmental consulting firm that specializes in providing cost-effective environmental solutions for both government and commercial clientele. PE is growing and seeking a full-time Environmental Technician to add to the Field Services Division in the St. Louis office. PE is seeking a dynamic and versatile individual capable of working with a team of environmental professionals and certified to primarily perform asbestos surveys and provide asbestos abatement oversight and air monitoring, but also support other monitoring (noise, vibration), assessment (sampling), and compliance (inspections) projects for our local and regional clients.  This is primarily a field position but office tasks (including reporting) will be required.  The items below would make you a great candidate for the position: 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Minimum 1-3 years of industry experience;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related field;  years of work experience or military service could be substituted for the degree;
  • State of Missouri certifications for Asbestos Inspector; Asbestos Supervisor, Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor, and NIOSH Air Monitoring certifications are a plus;
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification;
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and complete scheduled tasks with little to no supervision;
  • Proficiency in computer software programs, particularly MS Outlook, Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat;
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable violations history;
  • Ability to pass an annual physical examination and physician written opinion in compliance with OSHA regulations to wear and work wearing respiratory protection.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs;
  • Ability to travel (less than 25%);
