November 2011 – PE President and Company Highlighted in News Article

During the October 2011 NMSDC 2011 Conference, Professional Environmental Engineers, Inc.'s (PE’s) President Carolyn Green was selected to be interviewed for an article with BeeNewsNetwork, a Business, Education and Entertainment News entity.

The interview is captured in following article: "NMSDC Highlights Speakers, Toyota, Diversity, Business Development and Networking at 2011 Conference."

Excerpts from the November 7, 2011 article written by George Addison are below: "The diverse lineup of conference speakers represent a broad spectrum of industries, knowledge and experience in corporate procurement, minority business ownership and supplier diversity." – Joset B. Wright, President, NMSDC

Some 7,000 Asian, Black, Hispanic and Native American business owners, procurement executives and supplier diversity professionals attended the recent 2011 National Minority Supplier Development Council’s annual conference held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia. This year’s theme was, "Minority Businesses and Corporate America – Raising the Bar through Sustainable Strategies."

The event was co‐hosted by the Georgia Minority Supplier Development Council, one of NMSDC’s 37 local affiliates and featured more than 780 exhibit booths and 20 workshops.

Networking Opportunities

As you visit each business in attendance at the NMSDC conference, they all place a high value and emphasis on the unique networking opportunities and the chance to highlight their products and services. Professional Environmental Engineers, Inc., is one such company. This woman‐owned small business is a qualified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE). Based in St. Louis, Missouri, the company has branch offices and personnel throughout the U.S.

The full service environmental consulting firm is lead by Carolyn L. Green, President, CEO and Chair of the Board of Professional Environmental Engineers, Inc. Ms. Green’s experience has included stints as Vice President – Health, Environment and Safety for Sunoco, Inc., Director of Government and Public Affairs for Ultramar Diamond Shamrock, Environmental Affairs Manager for Southern California Gas Company, Deputy Executive Officer for the South Coast Air Quality Management District, and President of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power Board of Commissioners.

With her 30 years of environmental and energy experience Green’s company has created a niche’ providing cost‐effective environmental solutions for both government and commercial clientele via – Investigations, Assessments, Remedial Design, Remediation, Environmental Compliance, Emergency, Rapid Response.

I asked Ms. Green what value did she place on the event. "Coming to a function like the NMSDC is a good way for us to link with corporations that we otherwise might not encounter. The value we bring is that we are a very high quality engineering operation, which they don’t see, very often in a small business, let alone a minority business. So we can provide a number of their engineering services that may not be core to their operations. This is our first year attending and I want people to know that they should consider Professional Environmental Engineers as their go to source for external environmental services."
