Headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, Professional Environmental Engineers, Inc. (PE) is a full-service environmental consulting firm that specializes in providing cost-effective environmental solutions for both government and commercial clientele. PE is seeking a full-time, Project Manager/Scientist to work out of Jefferson City. Responsibilities include reviewing technical documents (files/reports) related to tank site investigations, risk assessment and cleanups, and plume stability evaluations. The ideal candidate will meet all of the minimum requirements listed below.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology/Hydrogeology, Soil Science, Environmental Science, Risk Assessment, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field;

  • Experience related to investigation and remediation of petroleum releases;

  • Experience with general risk assessment principles and risk assessment provisions of the Missouri Risk Based Corrective Action (MRBCA) guidance;

  • Knowledge of Missouri regulations pertaining to releases from underground and above ground petroleum storage tanks (USTs/ASTs) and the closure of USTs;

  • Experience writing and reviewing technical reports pertaining to environmental site investigation, risk assessments, risk management, groundwater monitoring, plume stability, and corrective action;


Other qualifications preferred (but not required) include experience with GIS, database entry/ management, excellent oral/written communication skills, experience with Microsoft Office software (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), and experience with reviewing chemical laboratory data and data on geologic, hydrogeologic, and soil characteristics.
