Professional Environmental Engineers performed a set of 5 Phase I ESAs encompassing a total of 27 parcels for preparation for entry of the sites into the Emergency Watershed Protection Floodplain Easement Program. PE reviewed multiple historic and regulatory sources, including previous reports provided to PE by the user (NRCS) and owner (City of West Haven) of the parcels. Field activities consisted of the drilling of 55 soil borings, installation of 25 monitoring wells and the sampling and analysis of over 150 soil, groundwater, sediment, and surface water samples.
